A group of Passionate young adults from the Rotaract Club of Gbagada, District 9110, Nigeria who are always ready to serve Humanity through community service once again on Saturday November 9th did another remarkable thing by taking it upon themselves to clean an entire community.

According to the President of the club Rtr. Aiebee-Iberedem Nkereuwem, the exercise falls under one of the Rotary’s 6 areas of Focus; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. We decided to take to the street our Sanitation exercise being our regular club activity.
Our Sanitation exercise is one of the Club’s signature projects and is carried our at least 3 times in a year.

This project was well attended by members of club and our Rotarian President Rtn. Akinwale Odutola from our sponsoring club Rotary Club of Gbagada

The Project started at about 7:00AM in partnership with Kent and Kelly Nigeria Limited (A refuse dump company in charge of Gbagada community) as we joined them in the early hours of the day packing refuse dumps in Ifako and Gbagada environs.
Our last stop was at De Prince Supermarket, Gbagada which lasted for about an hour 30 minutes to clear.

Also on this day, we had one of our members celebrate her birthday and was part of the exercise from start to finish.

We ended the exercise with a light breakfast to celebrate ourselves and our birthday girl for spending such precious morning serving the community.

We were so happy and we are always happy to keep our community Gbagada clean through our service.

We believe and we are proud that Rotaract has given us a responsibility to be the change the community needs and we ensure this is done following the Rotary 6 Area of Focus which are;
1. Peace Building and Conflict Resolution
2. Disease Prevention and Treatment
3. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
4. Maternal and child health
5. Basic education and literacy
6. Community Economic Development
