TWO AMAZING DAYS IN IBADAN!!!

Friday, February 21st and Saturday 22nd were dedicated for the people of Ibadan and the days were well planned and executed as no stone was left unturn in the great city of Ibadan.

The Rotaract Club of The Polytechnic Ibadan, District 9125 played their part as host to the Rotaract Club of Gbagada and Rotaract Club of Festac Town, all in District 9110. It was an awesome moment of fellowship and service amongst all the three clubs

FRIDAY ACTIVITIES

Activities kicked off on Friday with a DONATION OF BEDSHEETS to The Polytechnic Ibadan Medical Centre, gladly received by the Medical Director of the institution and the management staff.
The Medical Director expressed pleasure in the usual and regular activity of Rotaract to the health centre. He also mentioned that Rotaract Club is the best club on their campus with their numerous Goodwill and humanitarian activities every year.
The donation was officially done by Presidents and Members of RAC Gbagada, Festac Town, The Polytechnic Ibadan and Rotarians from RC Ibadan West led by their President, Rtn. Oluwole Owoseni.

 

COURTESY VISIT TO THE RECTOR AND REGISTRAR

Next was a courtesy visit to the Rector’s office as we were handsomely received by the Rector; Prof. (Engr.) Kazeem A. Adebiyi and the Registrar; Mrs Modupe Fawole with other management staff of the institution.
It was an interactive session between the staff, Rotaractors and Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Ibadan West, the sponsor club of Rotaract Club of The Polytechnic Ibadan led by their President, Youth Director; Rtn. Emuoghoke Emonena Solatan and other members of the club.
This visit also had the Rector and his staff receive Rotary’s 4 Way Test Frame to promote Rotary having him display it in his office.

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES

Peace Walk and Courtesy Visit to Sango Police Station
Saturday they say is for owambe but we are curious about the safety and neatness of our community, so the early morning of Saturday got us take a PEACE WALK with our notice on cardboards displaying peace, and Rotary/Rotaract messages as we journeyed down Sango Police Station for a Courtesy visit to the DPO; CSP Miyaki Joyce. It was an amazing meeting as both parties gave each others gifts, YES! after our donation, she also appreciated our visit and promised also her doors open for partnership with Rotaract at all times to promote peace and to help stop crimes in the city.

Sanitation Exercise & Donation of Sanitation Equipments to Sango Market

SANITATION AND DONATION OF SANITATION EQUIPMENT at Sango Market (The cleanest Market in Ibadan) was the next activity of the day. This exercise had Rotaractors and Rotarians clean round the market and made donations afterwards.
The act was well appreciated by the management of the market and expressed pleasure especially to the donations as they were just what they needed to always keep the market clean.

 

Joint Fellowship & Courtesy Visit to PP Rotimi Smith

Friday evening activity repeated itself on Saturday but with a Courtesy Visit to Past President Rotimi Smith of RAC Gbagada, 2008-2009 as he hosted all clubs and sponsoring the day’s dinner.
Joint fellowship was the last to mark and celebrate a successful weekend.

SUNDAY

After a wonderful and successful hosted programme by RAC The Polytechnic Ibadan, Sunday had us all depart Ibadan safely to our various destinations.

 

APRECIATION

Presidents and members of RAC The Polytechnic Ibadan, RAC Gbagada and RAC Festac Town whole heatedly and specially appreciates PP Abiodun Ajayi Mandate, Rtr. Adedapo Basirat (Vice President, RAC UI), PP Rotimi Smith, RC Gbagada, RC Ibadan West, RC Festac Town, and all other Rotaractors and Rotarians for their support all through the weekend.
